What is Building Better…?

A new program from Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity that helps homeowners make exterior home improvements on their existing homes, such as exterior painting, wheelchair ramp construction, porch repair, landscaping, and yard clean up.

How does Building Better… work?

Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity works with homeowners to determine the scope of each project. Able-bodied household members will work alongside volunteer groups to complete the project over the course of a day or two. Homeowners pay for only the cost of materials.

Am I eligible for Building Better…?

Applicants must own and occupy their home in need of exterior repairs that they cannot complete themselves. They must be current on their homeowner’s insurance, agree to partner with Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity, and meet income guidelines (see chart below).
