Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian organization and welcomes volunteers from all faiths who are committed to Habitat's goal of eliminating poverty housing.

The Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity, a Christian organization, in covenant with Habitat for Humanity International, seeks to establish a partnership between our community and God's people in need. Our purpose is to provide decent, affordable, and environmentally sound housing for those persons for whom such aspirations might otherwise be impossible. The Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity recognizes the importance of providing participating families with an opportunity not only to improve their living conditions, but also to enhance their sense of self-worth, hope, and dignity through a partnership with a caring Christian community.

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, or sources of income.
