Tiny House

THINK BIG….build tiny…

Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity (MAHFH) has been building safe, decent, affordable houses in Riley and Pottawatomie Counties for over twenty years…but there is still so much more work to be done. As affordable housing advocates, we are well aware that we do not currently serve all the populations who live in our counties that do not have access to affordable housing. We are always looking for innovative ways to make sure that all our neighbors have safe, decent housing that they can afford. So we started Thinking BIG and decided to build tiny….join us on our new adventure as we dig into the tiny house movement…

In partnership with Kansas State University College of Architecture, Planning and Design, Department of Interior Architecture and Product Design (IAPD), Caroline Peine Charitable Foundation, our Habitat Construction and Restore Teams, and Community Volunteers we are building awareness about Tiny Houses.

KSU IAPD students are designing and building a tiny house prototype that will be used to engage the community in a conversation about how tiny houses can fit into future Habitat home builds and serve previously underserved populations.

Follow us on Facebook and check back frequently for updates. Build days are Saturday at Habitat ReStore – February 13, 20, 27; March 26; April 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Completion May 7.

We thank our sponsors for their generous support.
